Q: Are there counseling or psychological services available to help students cope with heightened stress and anxiety?

A: Yes. ASU's Counseling Center offers individual, couples and group counseling to ASU students and their immediate families.

The Center is primarily staffed with graduate student counselors from ASU's MA in Counseling program, under the clinical supervision of Gregg Elliott, who is a licensed professional counselor.

Services provided include:

  • assessment and treatment of depressive and anxiety symptoms
  • relationship problems
  • interpersonal problems
  • decision making
  • creating a healthy balance in college life.

The Counseling Center also houses ASU's suicide prevention program, which is run by Laurel Carter. Referrals are made to the SLV Mental Health for psychiatric consultation.
