Research interests

Pancreatic cancer is currently the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. I am interested in the hormonal changes associated with pancreatic cancer and the ways in which these changes might be used in the development of screening methods for early detection of the disease in high risk groups. I am collaborating in this research with scientists at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, and North Western University School of Medicine inChicago, IL.

My other research interests include the role of regulatory peptides in normal and abnormal of the pancreas and other organs of the digestive system and the pathophysiological changes in pancreatitis.
