Coaching Emphasis - Online Program
Degree Plan
- Minimum degree requirements are 36 hours.
- Students may transfer a maximum number of six hours of graduate courses from an accredited institution. All transfer hours must be approved by the Department Chair.
- Coaching online students are required to complete 36 graduate credit hours. Successful completion of the degree also requires that students successfully complete written and oral comprehensive examinations.
- Course requirements are outlined below. However, at the time of admission, students may be assigned additional course work to re-mediate background deficiencies. Course work falling into this remedial category will not count toward the Master's degree.
Required Core Courses:
- HPPE 503: Introduction to Research - 3 HOURS
- HPPE 543: Measurement and Evaluation - 3 HOURS
- HPPE 580: Field Study - 3 HOURS
- HPPE 585: Practicum - 3 HOURS
- TOTAL: 12 HOURS
Coaching Emphasis:
- HPPE 504: Methods of Coaching - 3 HOURS
- HPPE 520: Administration of Sport - 3 HOURS
- HPPE 527: Sport Law - 3 HOURS
- HPPE 536: Sports & Exercise Psych - 3 HOURS
- HPPE 538: Sociological Aspects of Sport & PE - 3 HOURS
- HPPE 539: Strength & Conditioning - 3 HOURS
- HPPE 590: Capstone in Coaching - 3 HOURS
- Elective in HPPE
*Elective can be any HPPE course outside the Coaching emphasis. - TOTAL: 24 HOURS
