- Who Should Audition: All full-time students accepted at Adams State College are requried to audition for admission to the music major. If you have performed in high school or college ensembles, and wish to participate in Music at ASC, you are encouraged to apply and audition. Scholarships are available for certain instruments or performance areas.
-
- Music Major or Minors: Some scholarships are designated for music majors or participants. If you plan to Major or Minor in Music at Adams State College, a performance audition is required for placement in applied music (private instruction). Your audition helps the music faculty evaluate your current level of proficiency, assess your musical potential, and determine your placement in applied music. This admission audition may also serve as a Music Scholarship audition.
-
- Band or Choir: Placement auditions for the ensembles normally are held during the first few days of the fall semester. A limited number of scholarships are available by audition for ASC Band or Choir participants who do not plan to major or minor in music. If you wish to apply for a participant scholarship, an audition before March 1 is strongly recommended.
