Choir at ASC

There are three choirs at Adams State College that are open to all students regardless of major: Chamber Choir, Concert Choir and 68 West.

Music at Adams State College is an active and vital program, committed to musical excellence within a small college environment. ASC offers musical opportunities to all students who want to expand their creative horizons and participate in a group environment, performing music at the highest level. Choir at Adams State College continues a tradition that began here over 70 years ago.

Chamber Choir

The ASC Chamber Choir, directed by Dr. Beth Robison, is open to all ASC students by audition. Chamber Choir is a small ensemble of about twenty-four singers that performs advanced a cappella repertoire ranging from medieval chant to modern works.

The ASC Chamber Choir performs at least twice every semester on campus. Additional performance opportunities include performing at local high schools, touring throughout Colorado and appearances at the Denver Collegiate Choral Festival as well as other festivals and conventions.

Concert Choir


Concert Choir is the largest choral ensemble at ASC and is open to all students. It is made up of approximately fifty students from nearly every discipline in the college.

ASC Concert Choir performs at least twice a semester as part of the Music Department's concert series, performing both traditional and contemporary repertoire. No audition is required.

68 West


The college's vocal jazz ensemble, 68 West, performs extensively throughout the San Luis Valley. The ten-member a cappella group, under the direction of Dr. Beth Robison, performs a wide variety of jazz and contemporary styles.

68 West has been featured in performances on campus, for public and private community events and in educational programs at San Luis Valley schools. Membership is by audition only as vacancies occur.

Valley Community Chorus

This ensemble is open to the public and no audition is required. Conducted by Beth Robison, the group meets once a week, providing a musical opportunity for adult and high school singers throughout the region. The Valley Community Chorus performs a variety of larger choral works twice a year.
