
Dr. Tracy Doyle
Flutist Tracy Doyle is an active performer and music educator. A Massachusetts native, she earned her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in music education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in flute performance and music history from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Additionally, she studied the Orff Schuelwerk approach to music education at Mills College in Oakland. Dr. Doyle recently relocated to Colorado from the San Francisco Bay area where she taught instrumental and general music in the public schools.
In addition, she taught flute at American River College, maintained a successful private teaching studio, and performed extensively throughout Northern California.
She was a founding member of the Solaria Wind Quintet, played principal flute with the Solano and Camellia Symphony Orchestras, California Wind Orchestra, North Bay Opera, and performed with numerous other ensembles, including the Vallejo Symphony, Capitol Jazz Project, USAF Band of the Golden West, and Napa Symphony Orchestra.
She is a member of MENC, CMEA, Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Orff Schuelwerk Association, Colorado Flute Association, National Flute Association, and the College Music Society.
Dr. Doyle's other artistic interests include Celtic music, Irish flute, and multicultural folk dancing.
