Physics - Pre-engineering Program

The pre-engineering curriculum at Adams State College provides students interested in engineering the opportunity to explore their interest in a small college environment while at the same time providing them the flexibility to study other fields. We offer foundational courses like chemistry, physics, and calculus as well as some traditional engineering courses such as engineering graphics, statics, and dynamics.

First, it is important for us to point out that we do not offer an engineering degree. Our students typically spend 3-6 semesters at Adams State College before transferring to an engineering school.

We have had good success placing students at Colorado State University, the University of Colorado (Boulder and Colorado Springs), and the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, as well as in engineering schools in other states.

Course requirements are very discipline and school specific, so it is helpful for students to choose their field of study and engineering school as soon as possible. In addition, it is imperative that students work closely with their academic advisor to ensure they receive maximal credit when transferring to another institution.
