PLACE and Praxis II

Students should take and pass the appropriate PLACE or Praxis II content are exam. Passing results need to be received by the Teacher Education Department before the 7th week of the spring or fall semester prior to student teaching.

If passing results are not received by this time, the student teaching placement may be jeopardized. The Colorado Department of Education does require a passing score prior to an initial teaching license being issued.

When registering for the PLACE or Praxis II content exam, designate Adams State University as a Recipient for your test score.

Praxis II Content Area Exam

The Praxis® program continues to roll out Praxis tests by computer to provide candidates with increased convenience. Computer-delivered testing gives users access to an expanded network of more than 440 computerized test centers. The last paper administration date was June 7, 2014, with all tests available on computer for the 2014-15 testing year and beyond.
