“The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong,” directed by Dr. John H. Taylor, is the 20th holiday season production that the theatre department has produced since 2004. This family-friendly farce follows the antics of an amateur theatre company on the opening night of their winter play.  Taylor notes, “From their pre-show activities to the final moText on theatre poster: the one act play that goes worng written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shieldsments of their ill-fated performance, everything possible goes wrong. While giving their best effort, these actors are still perfectly awful, but wonderfully funny.”

In this 80-minute comedy written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer & Henry Shields, it is opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call. Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this award–winning comedy is full of laughs and comic surprises.
