STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE

  • Except for international students, Adams State College no longer requires mandatory student health insurance. Students are responsible for medical expenses they incur. It is highly recommended students carry insurance to meet their medical needs. Adams State does not have medical facilities on campus. However, the hospital and medical clinics are adjacent to campus.
  • To study in the United States, INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS are required to have medical insurance which meets federal requirements, 22 C.F.R. Section 62.14. A charge for insurance which meets the federal requirements is assessed to each international student each semester.
  • An international student may waive this charge by providing proof of required coverage to the Business Office, Richardson Hall, Room 130, 719.587.7552.
  • The deadline to waive insurance for the fall semester is September 7, 2011
  • The deadline to waive insurance for the spring semester is January 16, 2012
