MIKE'S CORNER (08-05-05)
I'd like to sincerely welcome both new and returning students, faculty and staff. Computing Services looks forward to another, busy, but fun, semester, trying to anticipate and meet your campus computing needs. The intent of this newsletter is to, periodically, update the campus on Computing Services projects and pass along helpful hints, frequently asked questions, etc. in the ever changing world of computer technology. This newsletter is for you, so your comments and/or recommendations for topics are always welcome. Send me an email or give me a call with your ideas. This summer a Computing Services team, led by Pat Roybal, has been working hard to bring wireless broadband to those Residence Halls that have been without high-speed connectivity.
Given the age of the buildings, it's been a challenge but Pat and his team are just about there. What makes this effort especially rewarding is knowing that what we're doing will help make the student college experience just a little bit better...the bottom line is that's what we're here to do.
