Portal
A portal can be thought of as a web site that serves as a starting point to a set of common information and services. In the case of our new Adams State College Portal, it serves as a gateway to timely campus announcements, campus email accounts, and a variety of school services and information links, kind of like an online ASC handbook.
The basic design intent of this portal was to replicate the most desirable functionality of our previous portal, a.k.a. Campus Pipeline. The current feature set includes the following:
For Everyone:
- Links to useful stuff
- Campus announcements
- Access to School Services including class registration, transcripts, personal info, etc...
- Access to Squirrel Mail, allowing for web browser access to ASC email accounts
For Students:
- Course listing with email links to professors
- Course page with professor provided course links, links to professor homepage and email.
For Faculty & Staff:
- Course listing
- Course pages with the ability to add and remove resource links for your students, email your entire class either individually or as a group, download class rosters for import into a spreadsheet, downloadable email address book for import into the email client of your choice.
