Terms of Use
ASC ResNet allows students to connect to the Internet from Coronado, Girault, Conour and wirelessly in Facutly Drive, McCurry, Savage, Petteys, Moffatt and Houtchens Halls without the need of a modem or tying up your telephone line and best of all with no limit on your connection time. The connection type is referred to as a "high-speed 10baseT-Ethernet network connection." With an NIC Card equipped in a PC or Mac connected to ASC's ResNet system in your dorm room, you can directly access the Internet to browse any web site for research or pleasure, and access e-mail to keep in touch with family and friends any time night or day.
ASC ResNet is not meant to replace the conventional computer labs on the campus. Computer labs are available to any student, whenever the labs are open. However, ASC ResNet offers students a chance to literally use the research power of the Internet 24 hours a day from their dorm rooms.
Terms Of Use Continued...
By living in ASC Housing and/or using ResNet service for Faculty Drive, Coronado, Girault, Conour, Savage, Petteys, Moffatt and Houtchens Halls, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions set forth below for this service.
Computer Security
ASC will be acting as the Residential (ResNet) Internet Service Provider (ISP). Services provided by ASC, in this capacity, will be similar to those provided by a commercially available ISP. Therefore, computer security for personal computers located in the dorms will be the sole responsibility of the owner. The same risks for virus or compromise that exist when using your computer at your home will exist in the residencial environment. Given this, it is critical that your PC or MAC has up-to-date virus protection software. You may also want to purchase a personal firewall package to help insure your computer security.
