The University contributes toward the payment of your health insurance premiums through payroll deduction and The State of Colorado contributes a portion of the premium as graphically depicted on the Colorado Health Plan Description. Rates are adjusted periodically to maintain the Insurance Plan on a sound financial basis. Premiums are deducted from your payroll check and an employee has the option to take advantage of the IRS Section 125 Plan that deducts medical and dental premiums on a pretax, pre-retirement basis.

Health Plan Enrollment
If you desire health insurance, you must enroll within 30 days of a Qualifying Status Change or within 31 days of employment, or eligible event. You may change enrollment elections during the annual open enrollment period for coverage to be effective the following July 1 of the next year.
Changing Your Coverage
You may change your coverage during the plan year only if you experience a status change as outlined in the State of Colorado Benefit Guide 2011 within the required period.
