Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting (Two Positions)
#FB8004 and FB8010
Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting #FB8004 and FB8010 (includes income tax courses). The School of Business at Adams State College invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August 2008. Our School of Business offers a robust undergraduate business curriculum and many exciting opportunities including new undergraduate programs and the development of a possible MBA program.
Starting Date: August 2008
Primary Duties:
- Teaching in a student-centered environment with a diverse student population.
- Teaching Bachelor level courses that may include: Principles of Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Individual Income Taxes, Corporation and Partnership Tax Accounting, Individual Income Taxes, Corporation and Partnership Tax Accounting, and possibly other business related classes such as Introduction to Business and Investments;
- Advising of undergraduate business students;
- Participation in college-wide and department committees;
- Take part in some scholarly and/or creative activities;
- Collaborations with other faculty on different School of Business programs.
 
Qualifications:
- Masters required in accounting or a business related field, PhD or DBA preferred.
- Professional certification a plus. (C.P.A., C.M.A., C.I.A., C.F.E, etc.)
- Demonstrated successful teaching.
- At least three years of professional business experience.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Interest in living in rural Colorado.
- Ability to perform above duties.
 
Salary and Benefits:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience up to $ 45,000 for a nine month contract. Adams State College offers a competitive benefit package.
