Valley Humane League. Students helped clean cages and get them ready for winter as well as helped excercise puppies and kittens.

There were two animal shelter projects: one at the Valley Humane League near Estrella, and on at the Conour Animal Shelter in Monte Vista.

Volunteers at the Adventure Center got the opportunity to create a fun-filled day for special needs children and their families.

Volunteers at the Sand Dunes helped remove Russian Thistle from the environment. Russian Thistle is an exotic plant that is becoming a detriment to the Park.

A great surprise at the Sand Dunes Project: Secretary of the Department of the Interior, Ken Salazar made an appearance and met the volunteers from ASC.

Volunteers at the Gator Farm assisted in putting up a large tent that would later serve as a biodome - a new attraction at the Farm.

This tent was so large and so heavy, it took all eight ASC volunteers as well as five volunteers from the Farm to set it up! (The tent extends beyond the tree in the background!)

Volunteers spent time at the registration tent to share in some conversation and mealtime with other volunteers.
