Students will learn the vital connection between fitness and health, gain knowledge of the benefits of exercise and be provided a rational basis for choosing a healthy, active lifestyle.

This course is designed to introduce the student to healthy, active lifestyles. Students will learn the vital connection between fitness and health, gain knowledge of the benefits of exercise and be provided a rational basis for choosing a healthy, active lifestyle. The course includes print information such as powerpoints, text book, and selected readings, as well as, videos, web pages, and laboratory experiences. The major topics of this course are organized into 8 learning modules, and introductory module. The introductory module includes a trial assignment and the syllabus quiz. Each learning module coincides with one or more chapters in the text, “Fit & Well: Core concepts and labs in physical fitness and wellness.” 9th ed. NY: McGraw Hill. Included in each module is additional informational content that reinforces content included in the text, one or more laboratory and/or web activities that promote application of the module content. Since this is an on-line course, you will be expected to work independently within established time-lines.
