A to Z Print* : A list of all the print journals Adams State has subscribed to or currently subscribes to. Includes date range and other information.

Academic Search Complete : A collection of journals covering all academic disciplines, with full text provided for over 4,600 titles. 

Adams State Library Catalog* : Contains records of all print resources in Adams State Library, and some electronic resources. Allows users to check their records, renew books, and request items be placed on hold.

Agricola: Agricultural Resources : About 4.9 million citations from articles, books, and technical reports on agriculture and plant science. 

America: History and Life with Full Text : Covers history and culture in the United States and Canada.  Abstracts over 1,500 journals and provides full text for about 230 journals. 

Art & Architecture Complete : Indexes a large number of art and architecture related journals, books and images. Includes some full text.  

arXiv* : A preprint archive hosted by Cornell University that includes papers in physics, mathematics, non-linear science, computer science, quantitative biology, quantitative finance and statistics. Submissions are not peer reviewed but may be found published at a later date in a peer reviewed journal.

Astrophysics Data System* : Produced by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and sponsored by NASA, the Astrophysics Data system contains over three billion records relating to Astronomy and Astrophysics. 

Auto Repair Reference Center : Supplies repair information, diagrams, maintenance intervals and more for hundreds of vehicles.  Includes care and repair tips as well as car troubleshooting assistance.

Book Index with Reviews :  A large database of numerous reviews on books, movies, and music.

Business Source Complete : A database of company information that provides full-text access to many important business journals, a collection of case studies, and economic reports. 

Business Source Complete- Enhanced : All the information in Business Source Complete but with a new enhanced interface specifically designed for business research.

ChemSpider* : A database of over 26 million chemical structures maintained by the Royal Society of Chemistry. Includes information on physical properties, articles, patents, and descriptions.

Chronicle of Higher Education : The leading newspaper for higher education in America. Includes news, job postings, and annual reports. Only allows one user at a time.

Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers* : High quality digital images from a select number of American newspapers. Covers 1836 – 1922.

CIA World Factbook* : A database of vital country information including facts on infrastructure, government organization, and international relations.

CINAHL Plus with Full Text : A popular nursing and health care database that provides full text for over 7720 journals, and offers access to books, dissertations, and conference proceedings. 

Colorado Grants Guide : This resource guide contains profiles of foundations, agencies, and organizations that support Colorado nonprofit organizations. The searchable database allows grantseekers to research funders that support a specific area of interest, geographic location or type of grant. 

Colorado's Historic Newspaper Collection* : Includes more than 500,000 digitized pages, representing 163 individual newspaper titles published in Colorado from 1859 to 1923.

Consumer Health Complete : A quick reference center for general health topics. Includes drug information, health fact sheets, encyclopedias and popular health reference books.

Corbis* : Corbis Offers over a million licensed photos, with a nice search interface

DOAJ:  Directory of Open Access Journals* : A large collection of freely available scholarly journals selected by a group of library professionals. You can search by journal title or by article title. Articles are all full text.

Dspace@MIT* : MIT's online database that houses articles by professors, theses by students, and other electronic documents submitted by the MIT community.

E

ebrary: Electronic Books : Online access to a variety of academic and popular books. 

EBSCO Electronic Journal Service : Offers on-campus and remote access to a number of electronic journals subscribed to by Adams State. 

EBSCOhost : The interface of Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, CINAHL, ERIC, Historical Abstracts, Mental Measurements, PsycINFO, SocINDEX, SPORTDiscus and many other specialty databases.

Electronic Journal Search* : Adam State's complete collection of electronic journals.

ERIC: Education Resources (EBSCOhost) : A database of over 1.3 million citations from the Education Resource Information Center. Some full text included. 

ERIC: Education Resources (public site)* : The public interface to ERIC.

FDsys* : The official catalog of all United States Government federal documents, provided by the U.S. Government Printing Office. 

FindLaw* : FindLaw is one of the largest free online resources for law. 

Flickr* : A hosting site for billions of uploaded images, with a user friendly search option. For images of the San Luis Valley and Adams State, see the Nielsen Library's Flickr account. 

Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia : An annually updated encyclopedia that features general reference and offers brief biographies.

GeoRef : A searchable bibliography of over 3.3 million records relating to the geosciences including abstracts on geophysics, petrology, oceanography and mineralogy. 

GeoRef in Process : Intended as a supplement to the main GeoRef database and contains unedited records that are still in the process of being indexed prior to their integration into GEORef. 

Getty Images* : A large collection of high quality stock photos. Downloads require a purchase; but searching and viewing is free. 

Google Art Project* : Search select collections and high resolution images from some of the world's most famous galleries. 

Google Images* : An image only search engine from the powerful search company. Includes options to narrow your search by color, size, subject, and more. 

Google News* : Google News searches news sites and arranges stories by topic, allowing you to read multiple viewpoints of a single event. 

Google Scholar* : A public search engine specially designed to find academic research. To make sure links to full-text resources offered by Adams State are included in your results, click on the Settings button in the right hand corner, then on Library Links in the left hand column. Type in or click on Adams State and select Save.

GreenFILE: Environmental Resources : A collection of over 612,000 records, some with full text, that covers numerous environmental topics such as pollution, recycling, and renewable energy.

Historical Abstracts with Full Text : An index of over 3,000 academic journals which covers the history of the world (excluding the United States and Canada), focusing especially on the 15th century and beyond. Some full text provided. 

History Reference Center : A basic history database that includes reference books, encyclopedias, photos, maps, videos, as well as over 150 periodicals.

Internet History Sourcebook* : Links to electronic versions of primary historical documents, sorted by subject. 

INSPIRE* : INSPIRE is a database dedicated to literature about High-Energy Physics. Partners include CERN, DESY, Fermilab, and SLAC.

JSTOR : Indexes and provides high quality full-text for thousands of core journals in the arts and sciences.

Kids Search : A search interface and collection of electronic resources designed specifically for K-8 students.

Legal Information Institute* : The Legal Information Institute is a non-profit housed by Cornell University whose main mission is making law and law resources freely available. 

Legal Information Reference Center : Provides a variety of consumer legal reference ebooks as well as legal forms and legal advice. 

LexisNexis : Provides access to over 10,000 news, business and legal sources. Includes law journals, newspaper articles, and company reports. 

LibGuides : Nielsen Library's subject specific guides to scholarly research and resources currently available to Adams State students. 

Library Information Science & Technology Abstracts with Full Text :  Covers over 600 journals related to library sciences. 

Library Literature & Information Science Full Text (H.W. Wilson) : An archive of over 155 library journals dating back to 1997. 

Literature Criticism Online : This portal offers access to the entire contents of Contemporary Literary Criticism, an important reference series that includes biographies, criticism, and in-depth annotations of current authors and authors who have died after December 31, 1959.

Luna Commons* : Searches a number of digital image collections produced by Universities and art institutions.

M

MAS Ultra :  Designed for high school libraries, MAS Ultra is a gateway to a variety of full text articles and reference sources covering multiple subjects. 

MasterFILE Premier : Designed for public libraries, MasterFILE Premier hosts many different reference works, image banks, and full text articles appropriate for a general audience.

Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print Access Restricted to One User at a Time: A database of information on evaluations and tests in business, education, leadership, and psychology. Actual tests and evaluations are not included. 

Middle Search Plus : A database of reference items and magazines appropriate for a middle school audience. 

MLA Directory of Periodicals : A database of over 2.3 million citations covering literature, language, and linguistics. Citations are produced by the Modern Language Association and go back to the 1920s. 

MLA International Bibliography : A large index which covers topics in literature, theory & criticism, language, linguistics, folklore and drama. Includes over 4,000 journals and links to some full-text.

National Atlas: Map Maker* : An online map of the United States that allows users to select and display a variety of geoscience features. Information provided by the United States Department of the Interior.

Newspaper Source : Covers American and international news. Offers full text articles from 40 newspapers, some full text transcripts of television and radio news programs, and selective full text for over 330 regional newspapers.

NoveList K-8 Plus : EBSCO's popular book review database, formatted for a K-8 audience.

NoveList Plus: Popular Literature : A database of popular reading material; includes lists of award winners, author read-alikes, and book discussion guides.

NSSDC Master Catalog Search* : The master catalog of the National Space Science Data Center. Search by spacecraft, experiments, data collections, personnel, and other aspects of NASA missions.

O

Overdrive : An online collection of ebooks, audio books, and videos that may be downloaded to your computer or electronic device. Requires a library card number to download items.

Oxford English Dictionary : An online version of the famous historical dictionary that traces the development of a word over time using evidence such as books, periodicals, and films. 

Oxford Music Online : A reference database which provides a portal to entries in The Oxford Dictionary of Music, The Oxford Companion to Music, and Grove Music Online.

P

PEDro: Physiotherapy Evidence Database* : A database of trials, reviews, and guidelines for evidence based Physiotherapy. Full text provided when available.

Petrucci Music Library* : A collection of public domain and personal sheet music.

PhilPapers* : An open repository of philosophy citations and full text articles.

PLoS: Public Library of Science* : The Public Library of Science offers a search interface for their highly regarded open access journals PLoS ONE, PLoS Genetics, PLoS Computational Biology, PLoS Pathogens, PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, PLoS Medicine, and PLoS Biology. Includes full text.

Points of View Reference Center : A  high school level database that provides overviews, news articles, magazine articles, transcripts, and images on a variety of topics of current debate.

Primary Search : Full-text of over 80 magazines published for the elementary school population.

Prospector: Union Catalog* :  The combined catalog of a number of Colorado and Wyoming libraries. Allows anyone with an Adams State Library card to request materials from the catalog to be sent to Adams State for pick up.

PsycARTICLES : Full text coverage of 80 select journals specializing in psychology. Coverage is from 1894.

PsycINFO : Provided by the American Psychological Association, this database offers a variety of articles and abstracts covering anthropology, business, education, medicine, psychiatry, sociology, and other related subjects.

Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection : A large psychology database with almost 400 full text titles.

PubChem* : A database of chemical molecules maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information. Search by bioassay, compound, or substance.

PubMed* : Hosts over 21 million citations related to the life science and biomedical fields. Includes some full text from PubMed Central.

Regional Business News : Full text articles gathered from nearly 100 regional U.S. and Canadian business publications.

ScienceDirect (Elsevier)* : The public platform for searching the current journals and archives of a large science publisher. Very little full text access.

Science Reference Center : A basic science database that indexes and provides access to reference books, encyclopedias, essays, biographies, animations, images, videos, and periodicals.

Scitation* : Produced by the American Institute of Physics Scitation is a database of journals, conference proceedings, ebooks, and other sources of information relating to the STEM sciences.

Searchasaurus : A search interface and collection of electronic resources designed specifically for elementary school students.

Small Engine Repair : This database provides service manuals for generators, boat motors, tractors, and other types of small engines.

SocINDEX with Full Text : A large sociology research database with abstracts of a variety of journals, books, and other resources. Includes full text for 890 journals.

SPORTDiscus with Full Text : A database covering articles and reports on sports and sports medicine. Includes full text for over 530 journals.

SpringerLink* : The public platform for searching the current journals and archives of a large science publisher. Very little full text access.

Student Research Center : A search interface and collection of EBSCO databases selected especially for secondary education students.

TOPICsearch : Full-text articles from selected publications which provide current viewpoints on specific social, political and popular topics.

U

United States Census* : Portal for all United States Census information including news, reports, interactive maps and statistics. Also includes the 2012 Statistical Abstract.

University of Michigan Museum Directory* : A comprehensive directory of museum websites from all over the world.

V

VADS* : A comprehensive database from the United Kingdom that includes images from many well-known institutions such as the Royal College of Art, Imperial War Museum, and London College of Fashion.

Valley Courier Headlines* : An Adams State database that searches the headlines for the Valley Courier since 1997. Some entries for obituaries are included before 1997.

W

Wall Street Journal : The ProQuest interface for one of the largest financial publications in the United States. Includes full text. 

Wikimedia Commons* : Free media files arranged in a Wikipedia like style.

World Database of Happiness* : A collection of reports from various governmental institutions on quality of life measurements.

WorldCat (OCLC)* : A combination of library catalogs from all over the world. Find out edition information, search for a rare item, and discover local collections.
