Mission Statement

The mission of Adams State University's Nielsen Library is to acquire, maintain, and provide access to print materials, electronic resources, instruction, and facilities that serve ASU students, faculty, and staff; and secondarily, the residents of the San Luis Valley. We value partnerships and collaborations that support and benefit the education and research efforts of both communities.

Vision Statement

Nielsen Library of Adams State University, while working to improve the existing collection, seeks to create a dynamic library that plans for and responds to the evolving information and research needs of Adams State University and serves as a resource for our diverse community. Over the next three years, Nielsen Library will focus its efforts on promoting information literacy, providing access to needed collections (print and electronic), creating physical and virtual library spaces that are effective and inviting, while strengthening the library information technology infrastructure. To accomplish these goals, we must explore new sources of funding, share our successes with the people we serve, and support library employees in their efforts to acquire new and evolving skills.
