Zacheis Planetarium free September shows

The Adams State University Zacheis Planetarium programming includes free shows through September.

Thursday evening programs start at 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., doors open at 6:45 p.m.

  • September 5 – live earth program;
  • September 12 – "Oasis in Space" movie;
  • September 19 "Creatures of the Night" with Sand Dunes Ranger Danielle York;
  • September 26 – "Earthquake: Evidence of a Restless Planet" movie.

Friday movies begin at 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., doors open at 4:15 p.m.

  • September 6 – "Dynamic Earth";
  • September 13 – "Natural Selection";
  • September 20 – "Two Small Pieces of Glass";
  • September 27 – "Tales of the Maya Skies."

A show on Saturday, September 7, will be held at the Great Sand Dunes National Park, "Celestial Festival" with guest speaker and telescopes for viewing. Meet in the Sand Dunes parking lot at 7:30 p.m.

All shows are free and open to the general public. Tickets will be available at the planetarium when the doors open, and are required for entry to the theater due to limited seating.
