ASC senior theater major takes play to schools (12-06-07)
Kimberly Schor will showcase her senior thesis, "Rollin' in Dough in Mistletoe," a Christmas Melodrama, written by Marietta Slater and published by Pioneer Drama Services, at local schools Nov. 30 through Dec. 7. "A play about no matter how bad things get, if we work together as a whole we can make things work," Schor said.
The outreach theatre production is a collaboration with Alamosa High School and features high school actors. Schor said she wanted to do a play that would appeal to any age and would promote theatre in the valley schools.
The specific dates and locations are as follows. A public performance will be held at 7:30 pm on Dec. 6 in the Alamosa High School Auditorium. This performance is free and open to the public.
Performances were held Nov. 30 at Evans Elementary, Dec. 4 at Ortega Middle School and Dec. 7 at Polston Elementary. Immediately following the performance at Ortega Middle school the actors metwith the Monte Vista Middle School special needs students. Schor said the special needs students and the actors will meet to discuss the process of putting a play together.
