ASC announces spring 2008 free faculty lecture series (01-15-08)

The Adams State College Faculty Lecture Series for the spring 2008 semester includes six unique speakers, addressing a variety of topics. The free lectures begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays in Porter Hall (the science building) room 130 throughout the semester.

The schedule includes James Doyle, instructor of music, "Drumming Where? Adventures playing music in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other faraway places," on January 30; Dr. Sheryl Ludwig, assistant professor of teacher education, "Making Fast the Thread: Cultural Maintenance and Transmission of Mayan Women Weavers," on February 13; Dr. Gina Mollet, assistant professor of psychology, "Brain Power: How Nutrition Influences the Brain," on March 5; Armando Valdez, assistant professor of business, "Improving Access to Health Care," on March 26; Dana Provence, assistant professor of art, "Observation: The Nexus of Art & Science," on April 9; and Dr. Matt Nehring, professor of physics, "Exploring Paradoxes in Special Relativity," on April 23.
