Visit the PALS Jungle at ASC Community Partnerships
In coordination with the La Puente's PALS program, ASC Community Partnerships brings you a gallery exhibit made with love by Alamosa's creative PALS kids. Throughout the month of February, the gallery will be filled with colorful and carefully crafted jungle creations. The PALS kids have created masks made specially from molds of their cheerful faces decorated with all kinds of material, including yarn, markers, crayons, feathers, and much more. Along with these colorful masks, other jungle creations, including a tree made of discarded toys, will transform the gallery into a real jungle. From lions to insects, the gallery will appear as you have never seen it before. Peer into a child’s imagination and see the world through the eyes of a child.
PALS, which stands for Positive Activities Lead to Success, is a licensed after-school and summer children's program. The program provides a positive structure, offers an explorative learning environment, and builds trusting relationships for children who come from challenging backgrounds. All the activities at PALS aim to offer a positive, supportive environment and opportunities for children to broaden their personal experiences. At ASC Community Partnerships, our mission is to develop, maintain and showcase strong community partnerships. This exhibit brings a new generation of our community together that demonstrates the positive effects art has on not only children, but the community as well. ASC Community Partnerships continues to exhibit community artwork at our gallery on the corner of Edgemont Blvd. and Main Street in Alamosa, Colo.
The PALS Kid's Jungle Exhibit will be held from February 1 through February 29 in the ASC Community Partnerships Gallery. The gallery's hours are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Join us for a reception from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, for some great art and delicious munchies.
