Administrator and School Counselor Workshop planned for January 31
The Adams State University Department of Counselor Education will host an Administrator and School Counselor Workshop from 8 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 in the Student Union Building room 129.
Workshop sessions will address current and pertinent issues related to school counseling and administrative responsibilities. The Colorado Department of Education Special Service Professions Evaluation Rubrics will be presented and discussed.
Keynote speaker Tina Meier, with the Megan Meier Foundation, will share her story of how her daughter, Megan, took her own life at age 13 due to the actions of cyberbullies who lived down the street. The keynote address will cover Megan's story, bullying, stereotypes, suicide, sexting, the bystander's role, cyberbullying, empathy, and internet safety.
The workshop will count for 8 free NBCC continuing education hours. The workshop is hosted by Adams Stat Department of Counselor Education in collaboration with the SLV BOCES Superintendent's Advisory Council.
