Annual ASC Autumn@Adams cook off includes wings (07-17-2009)
Autumn in the San Luis Valley means the smell of fresh roasted green chiles and football season. No game day is complete without a pot of green chile and a plate of wings, bbq, hot, terayki, any style. The Adams State College Autumn@Adams committee will celebrate the best green chile and best wing chef in the San Luis Valley during the second annual cook-off from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, September 12, on the front lawn of Richardson Hall.
Contestant fee is $10 and cash prizes will be awarded to the top green-chile cooks and the top chicken wing cooks. To have a contestant form mailed to you, contact Linda Relyea at 719-587-7827, email lsrelyea@adams.edu, or go online to adams.edu/autumn_at_adams/ and click on the cook-off link.
Chile and wings will be judged by the general public, who will pay $3 to receive a ballot. Cups, spoons, napkins, chips, and electricity will be provided. The Adams State EARTH group bake sale and the San Luis Valley Cancer Relief Fund Bean Bag Tournament Fundraiser will be held in conjunction with the cook-off.
