Mark Abendroth
Mark Abendroth, assistant professor for Teacher Education, received a B.S. in Public Affairs from Indiana University, an M.A. in Education from CU Boulder, and a Ph.D. of Education in Critical Pedagogy from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. Abendroth previously worked as a teacher of English language learners and social studies. He also taught in a bilingual school in Brazil and did prison reform work in Texas and Puerto Rico. Abendroth specializes in critical pedagogies, political economy, and second langrage acquisition. He is married to Liliana and enjoys backpacking and music.
Amanda Atencio
Amanda Atencio, academic counselor and tutoring program coordinator for Student Support Services, received a B.A. in sociology from Adams State College. Atencio has served the TRIO programs for six years. Her family includes her father, mother, brother, sister, nephews, and nieces. She enjoys being outdoors, dancing and choreography, drawing, playing the guitar, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Lorrie Crawford
Lorrie Crawford, administrative assistant for Extended Studies, attended some college, technical school, and massage therapy school. Crawford previously worked as a clerk, computer operator and analyst, trainer and program developer, a volunteer recruiter, marketer, program coordinator, training and education technician, and as a massage therapist. She is married and has two adult children. She enjoys woodworking, recycling and repurposing, hiking, volunteering, horseback riding, reading, and dancing.
Phil Groves
Phil Groves, assistant track and field coach for the Athletic Department, received a B.S. from the University of Missouri. Groves previously worked as an assistant track and field coach for Missouri Baptist University and Chadron State College.
Lynn Michalke
Lynn Michalke, administrative assistant for Foundation, received a B.A. in English from Adams State College. Michalke previously worked with the city of Alamosa as a dispatcher, clerk, typist, secretary, office supervisor, and as a management assistant. Her family includes her spouse John, son Paul, a granddaughter, and two cats. She enjoys digital photography, stained glass, oil and acrylic painting, scroll sawing, playing musical instruments, reading, and crocheting.
Nancy Molina
Nancy Molina, service learning director for Community Partnerships, received a B.A. in history, government and social studies from Adams State, and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction. Molina previously worked as a social studies teacher and as a youth volunteer director. Her family includes her husband Oscar, stepson Christopher, and daughters Alliyah and Annahi.
