Free robot workshop at Adams State College (03-08-07)
Explore simple robots, in a free, hands-on workshop from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, March 23 in room 120 of Porter Hall, the Science Building on the Adams State College campus. If you can't make the first workshop an identical one will be held 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in room 120 of Porter Hall.
Participants will use a version of BASIC to control Parallax's BOE-Bots. In this workshop, participants will use simple program commands to maneuver a robot through a maze, and in the process, learn how a robot "sees", moves, and responds to the environment. No prior electronics or computer programming skills need.
The workshop is free to the public and all materials will be provided. The number of participants is limited! Call the Zacheis Planetarium for reservations at 719-587-7616, 8:00 a.m. is the best time to call, or send an email to rwemmons@adams.edu.
