Adams State cyclist places sixth at nationals
Adams State University road cyclist Brian Ellison placed sixth out of 83 starters in the Criterium event of the Collegiate Road National Championships, held last weekend in Richmond, Virginia.
Adams State Adventure Sports Cycling Coach Marshal Hartley explained the Criterium is a very fast, technical, and aggressive style of racing. The bicyclists raced laps for 75 minutes on a .9-mile course with six turns.
"We are very happy that we have already been able to compete so well at the national level. We are only in our second year as a cycling team," Hartley said. "Two of our riders made it to mountain bike nationals last fall, with one placing 17th, and now Brian just secured our best nationals result. ASU Cycling is on its way!"
