Adams State College faculty flute recital is Nov. 8 (11-06-07)

The Adams State College Department presents Assistant Professor of Music Dr. Tracy Doyle in concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in Leon Memorial Hall. Tickets are $5 adults, $1 for students, and free to AS&F and Friends of Music.

Doyle will be accompanied by Dr. William Lipke, piano, Dr. Christine Keitges, mezzo-soprano, and James Doyle, percussion. The concert will feature works by Schubert, Bartok, Ravel, Bliss, and a Bourne arrangement of Bizet's Carmen.

Flutist Tracy Doyle is an active performer and music educator. A Massachusetts native, she earned her bachelor of music and master of music degrees in music education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a doctor of musical arts degree in flute performance and music history from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

She was a founding member of the Solaria Wind Quintet, played principal flute with the Solano and Camellia Symphony Orchestras, California Wind Orchestra, North Bay Opera, and performed with numerous other ensembles, including the Vallejo Symphony, Capitol Jazz Project, USAF Band of the Golden West, Napa Symphony Orchestra and most recently, the United States Air Force Academy Band. She is also a founding member of Tripping Upstairs, an Irish music group, and Zapata Falls Players, a chamber music ensemble.
