Zacheis Planetarium presents Star of Wonder (11-29-07)

This holiday season, the Adams State College Zacheis Planetarium will present "Star of Wonder." Historically, there are no records of the actual birth date of Jesus Christ. In the "Star of Wonder," the accounts of astronomical events surrounding Jesus' birth are examined in an attempt to identify possible birth dates. The show concludes with speculation, based on historical accounts, of the guiding "star" seen by the magi. This free show lasts approximately 50 minutes.

The planetarium opens at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7; Saturday, Dec. 8; Friday, Dec. 14; Saturday, Dec. 15; and Sunday, Dec. 16. No reservations are required, but the planetarium doors are closed once the show begins at 7:00 p.m.

Following the show, if the weather permits, there will be the opportunity to view night objects using an observatory telescope. If you are interested in this activity, please dress very warmly.
