ASC Community Partnerships hosts EPA meeting

(11-25-2008)

ASC Community Partnerships will host the Environmental Protection Agency sustainability research team's community meeting from noon to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the ASC community outreach center on the corner of Main and Edgemont Streets on the Adams State College campus in Alamosa.

The project leader, Dr. Herbiberto Cabezas, will give an update regarding their development of a sustainability computer model for the San Luis Valley. The entire national team, comprised of about ten people with various specialties (economics, chemistry, biology, statistics, environmental law, ecology), will also be there to contribute to the discussion and question and answer session.

The model is designed to measure how quickly a community moves towards or away from sustainability. The objective of this national pilot project is to use this tool for economic development assessment, long term community planning and decision making.

Please join us for this important update during the final stages of the research. Please call ASC Community Partnerships at 719-587-8227 to RSVP or for more information.
