Adams State Alumni Relations has many homecoming activities planned (10-01-08)

The Adams State College Alumni Relations Office has many events planned for alumni and community. Events begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Cattails Golf Course with the annual golf outing; later that afternoon at 3 p.m. the alumni receptions and special reunion group get-togethers will be held in the Student Union Building, third floor.

This year two medical doctors are being honored at the alumni banquet and annual meeting. Dr. Tom White and Dr. Opeyemi Daramola will receive the Outstanding Alumni Award and Exceptional New Alumni Award, respectively. The banquet begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building room 131, tickets are $25 per person and can be reserved by calling Gaylene Horning at 719-587-8110.

The ever-popular, homecoming jazz concert starts at 8 p.m. in the Richardson Hall Auditorium and the play, "Rabbit Hole" also begins at 8 p.m. on the Main Stage in the Adams State Theater Building. Saturday, October 11 begins bright and early with the 5K run, sponsored by Rex Gym, call 719-587-7989 to reserve your spot. At 10 a.m. the parade begins on the east end of Main Street in Alamosa. The tailgate party starts at 11 a.m. on the Nielsen Library west lawn; cost is $5 per person. This year it is the Grizzlies versus Fort Lewis Skyhawks at 1 p.m. in Rex Field; a post-game reception is scheduled at 4 p.m. at the Inn of the Rio Grande.
