ASC Community Partnerships invites community to open house
Adams State College's Community Partnerships has found a permanent home in the new Community Outreach Center on the corner of Main and Edgemont Streets in Alamosa. Utilizing a grant from HUD's Office of University Partnerships, Community Partnerships renovated a previously vacant building on the Adams State College campus, creating new office space to enable them to better serve the San Luis Valley community.
ASC Community Partnerships' staff invites you to come and visit during their open house, held throughout normal business hours from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15. Refreshments will be available. Anyone from the community is welcome to come, take a look at the new facility and visit with the staff. Parking is available on Edgemont Street or in the lot in front of the Community Outreach Center. For more information, please call Community Partnerships at 719-587-7230, or Karl Jolliff at 719-587-8209.
Community Partnerships is dedicated to utilizing college resources to improve the quality of life for the citizens of the San Luis Valley. Towards that end, Community Partnerships provides three kinds of services. The first is community organizing, which focuses on organizing ASC and the community around pertinent issues impacting our valley, using activities such as community forums and workshops. The second is business support, where Community Partnerships provides free and confidential business counseling to potential and existing businesses in the Valley. The third is Arts and Culture, in which Community Partnerships provides education and support for current and prospective artists. Service learning is a component of every ASC Community Partnerships program.
