Free concert at Adams State College on September 25 (09-05-08)

The Adams State College Music Department presents a free concert by Rampart Winds, a dedicated woodwind quintet of the United State Air Force Academy Band. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 in Leon Memorial Hall on the Adams State College campus. The group will host an open master's class from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. in Leon Memorial Hall. Both events are free but tickets are being collected for the concert.

According to Tracy Doyle, assistant professor of music, Rampart Winds is made up of world-class performers. All members have an outstanding knowledge in music and have preformed at many different high status events such as the Summit of Eight Conferences' "First Ladies' Dinner" hosted by former President Clinton in Denver, and the opening of the D-Day Museum in New Orleans. They have traveled to places such as Washington D.C., New York, Denver, Las Vegas, Chicago, Seattle, and Aspen. By performing a large selection of music, Rampart Winds mission is that of community relations, educational outreach, and Air Force recruiting.
