100 Years of San Luis Valley Reservoirs Exhibit at ASC Luther Bean Museum
The Adams State College Luther Bean Museum is currently hosting the 100 Years of San Luis Valley Reservoirs exhibit through October 7. The museum hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The exhibit explores the Rio Grande Reservoir, Santa Maria and Continental Reservoirs, Terrace, Platoro, Sanchez, and Mountain Home/Smith Reservoirs as well as historic and underground reservoirs. Included in the exhibit is 40 additional historic photographs and text, present day snapshots of the reservoirs, and an opportunity for visitors to add comments about the exhibit.
A 17-minute DVD tells the story of early water development in the San Luis Valley and describes the building of the San Luis Valley reservoirs, using historical photographs and recent aerial video. The DVD is for sale at the exhibit.
