Adams State hosts author Gonzales on Thursday
Adams State University will host author Lucia Vallejos Gonzales, Treasures of My Valley, for a book reading and signing at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, in the Nielsen Library second floor. The event is free and open to the public.
Gonzales, a native of Costilla, N.M., was a public school teacher for nearly 30 years. She wrote a story for future generations, describing farming, gardening, cooking, trading, and many other aspects of living in the San Luis Valley at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Along with writing, Gonzales enjoys weaving, being active in community and church organizations and carrying on the traditions of her inherited culture.
