About

The Adventure Program is a service provided by Student Life and Recreation. We offer a variety of trips and events at all levels of instruction, from the basics to highly technical trips and getaways.
Mission
To provide outside adventure experiences emphasizing the spirit of adventure, respect for the environment, challenge, personal development, sound judgment, excellent service and respect for the participant, thereby improving the quality of campus and community life.
Core Values
- Outdoor environments are good for people's health and well-being. In college we have to work with the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
- There is value in completing difficult things.
- ASAP guides teach skills so that people can continue the outdoors activity beyond our trip.
- Our experiences shape who we are and how we feel about many aspects in life.

History
In 1925, Luther Bean took a group of Adams State students tot he summit of Blanca Peak, establishing the Outdoor Club. For many years, the club was the most popular on campus, and many wrote of their fond memories of the outdoor club excursions. Adventure Programs continues to enrich the college experience of many Adams State students with incredible experiences. Don't let another fun, challenging, and unique experience pass you by. Great stories do begin here! We look forward to seeing you out there.
