Intramural Sports Registration:

When is intramural registration?

  • You may register for any intramural sport during the sport-specific registration period.
  • The registration period varies for each sport; the registration deadlines can be found on http://www.imleagues.com/schools/adams and just click on the specific sport your interested in playing.

Who is eligible to play intramural sports?

  • Any current Adams State College student, faculty or staff member. However, current varsity athletes are not allowed to compete in their corresponding sport. For example, a varsity basketball player will not be allowed to play intramural basketball.
  • A current ASC ID must be must presented prior to participation each time you participate.

How do I form a team?

  • Ask other students in your residence hall, classes and clubs. RA's are also helpful when you first arrive to campus, since some RA's will create intramural teams from students on their floor.
  • If you cannot find a team, use the FREE AGENT button online at http://www.imleagues.com/schools/adams or ask for help and we can assist you in finding a team.

Is there a fee to sign-up an intramural team?

  • Typically, there is not a fee to participate in any intramural sport. Intramural sports are funded partially via the Recreational Sports Department via the Student Activity Fee. For certain special events, there may be a participation fee.

How do I sign up for Intramural Sports?

  • Online at http://www.imleagues.com/schools/adams. All you need is a grizzlies.adams.edu email to start and your ready register.

Can I play on more than one team per sport?

  • Yes, if the sport is offered as Co-Rec (CR) and single gender (M/W), then you may play in the league of your gender and the co-rec league.
  • If it is only offered as Co-Rec or only as M/W, then you are only allowed to play on one team.

Team Rosters:

Can I add players to my roster during the season?

  • You may add players during the open season for the particular sport online at http://www.imleagues.com/schools/adams please be aware of dates and deadlines for open enrollment. However, please remember that any game played with an ineligible player will be forfeited by the offending team.
  • You may also add players to your roster by asking the player to be added to stop by the Intramural and Club Sport Office at the Rex Activity Center.

What is a Free Agent?

  • A Free Agent is someone who does not have a team to play on, but wishes to play. Team captains can view the Free Agent link on http://www.imleagues.com/schools/adams in their particular sport to find more players for their team. See "How do I form a team?" above.

Schedules:

What sports are offered?

  • Please see http://www.imleagues.com/schools/adams. If you would like to request a new sport, please contact the Intramural Graduate Assistant; they can be found in the Rex Activity Center.
  • New sports are added based on student interest. Dodgeball, Arena Football, and Box Soccer are three examples of activities added based on student interest.

When are games played?

  • Most games are played Sunday-Thursday, beginning at 6 pm, and ending at 10 pm, generally scheduled every hour. Occasionally, a special event will be held on a Saturday.

How long does the season last?

  • Intramural leagues generally last four to five weeks, depending on the number of teams and facility availability. In each league, a single elimination tournament will follow the regular season, stretching the season out another week or two.

How do I find out my team's game schedule?

  • All schedules are posted online at http://www.imleagues.com/schools/adams. Also, schedules are distributed at the captain's meeting, so each captain will have a hard copy of a schedule.
  • They are also posted outside the Intramural and Club Sports Office in the Rex Activity Center, on the Intramural Sports board.

How do I find out if games are canceled if the weather is bad?

  • A member of the Intramural and Club Sport Staff will call captains of all teams affected by the weather in the event of a weather cancellation.
  • We will play in rain and snow, as long as it is still safe, so prepare for inclement weather conditions for outdoor sports.

Can I reschedule games once the schedule has been posted?

  • Only in the event of a scheduling error by the Intramural and Club Sport Staff will a game be rescheduled. If your team will be short a few players for any one game. It will be left up to the discretion of the professional staff to allow those students to participate. The intent of this policy is to allow teams to avoid forfeits due to limited player availability.

What happens if my team does not show and is forced to forfeit?

  • Forfeitures are used as the first tie-breaking tool. For example, if two teams finish with identical records, the team that has not forfeited a game will be placed as the higher seed in the season-end tournament. If a team forfeits two games in any season, it will be removed from the league, so please make every effort to make it to each game.

What is Bean Bag Toss/Baggo?

  • Baggo, or cornhole, is a popular tailgating game where individuals or teams take turns tossing bean bags and wooden boxes from 30 feet away. If your beanbag goes through the hole, you get 3 points. If it simply lands on the box, you get one point. For more information, visit www.playcornhole.org.

Can I work for Intramurals Sports?

  • Yes! We staff 10 - 15 students every semester as intramural scorekeepers and officials. Stop by the Rex Activity Center to complete an application.

What kind of training do the officials go through?

  • Student officials go through sessions on rules and mechanics, and are evaluated during each intramural season. Participants must remember that most students are new to officiating and are doing their best to enforce the rules consistently.
