Why get tutoring?

Tutoring and study sessions are provided by peer tutors in both small group and individual sessions. Our tutors participate in training activities each semester to hone specific skills to better assist students in their engagement and understanding the of the course curriculum.
What types of tutoring do we offer?
Group & Individual Tutoring
The Grizzly Testing & Learning Center offers academic support for students through small group sessions or one-on-one tutoring led by trained peer tutors. This assistance allows students to develop a deeper understanding of course concepts with the support of tutors who clarify difficult course material, review homework assignments and provide motivation as role models.
Supplemental Instruction (SI)
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic assistance program that utilizes peer-assisted study sessions. SI sessions are regularly-scheduled, informal review sessions in which students compare notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools, and predict test items. Students learn how to integrate course content and study skills while working together.
Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)
Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) is an academic assistance program, where students work together to reinforce key concepts and develop effective study strategies. Each session incorporates how to learn and what to learn.
