Network Resources for Students...


There are multiple network computing resources for students to use.

Computer Labs

  • A listing of available labs, their locations, and existing configurations is located in the right column of this page.

File and Print Services

  • Each student has 120 MB of network storage available for saving their files. Students can also print using both black and white and color printers. These are available within the computer labs.

Email and web site space

  • Every student is provided with an email and web account with the ability to host a web page. Combined storage equal to 50MB.

ASC Portal

  • The Campus Portal system is used to provide Adams State College students, faculty and administrative staff with Intranet and Internet services. This is where you can check your class schedule, register for courses, fill out an on-line class evaluations and contact your instructors via email. There is also the ability to Set a Nickname, a way to customize your display name and Set Email Forward, forwarding your email to another email system. The Campus Portal is also the place to change your password. This system synchronizes the passwords on all three systems. For security reasons we suggest you change you password often. Blackboard

  • Blackboard is the Course Management System for ASC. It provides students with access to course information, syllabus, course materials, mail, chats, announcements, links and to track assignments. Many classes on campus provide this service.

RESNET

  • High-speed 10baseT ethernet network is available in the following residence halls, Coronado, Girault and Conour. The balance of the residence halls have wireless access. With an ethernet or wireless equipped PC or Mac connected to ASC ResNet, you can directly access the Internet to browse any web site for research or pleasure, and access e-mail to keep in touch with family and friends any time, night or day. This means no more modems, busy phone lines or time limits to worry about. ASC ResNet ResNet offers students a chance to literally use the research power of the Internet 24 hours a day from their dorm rooms.
