Mike has worked as Strength Coach at Velocity Sports Performance-Lehi, UT, and WCS – Occupational Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine / WCS – Gattone Sports Performance. Mike has worked as a Fitness Director at Highland Park Hospital Health and Fitness and as a personal trainer at the East Bank Club in Chicago, IL, and at the YMCA of McDonough County. Mr. Waller has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed articles, and has also co-authored two books Alternative Training Methods and Power Training.
Mike has coached national level powerlifters and weightlifters, while having competed in those respective sports along with strongman and Highland Game competitions. Mike’s favorite sport teams are the Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox, while football is dedicated to the San Francisco 49ers and the UTES…although the Fighting Irish and Gators hold a special place in his heart (family connection).
Mike enjoys watching MMA, fishing, hiking, and reading; with some of his favorite authors being Tom Clancy, David Baldacci, and John Grishman. Some of Mike’s hobbies include reading military history, collecting antique exercise and military items, and cooking. His favorite TV shows are Deadliest Catch, Ultimate Fighter, Hell’s Kitchen, Breaking Bad, Family Guy, South Park and The Simpsons.
