Julia Schwarz - 2004 Theatre Alumna

After graduating from Adams State, Julia earned her M.A. in Theatre Education from Emerson College where her work focused on theatre for social change. She spent a few years working as an actor and team-building facilitator in Boston before deciding to move behind the scenes into arts administration.

She served as Development Officer for the American Repertory Theater (ART) before returning to Emerson to be part of the founding staff who launched ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage. She is now the Associate Director of External Affairs for ArtsEmerson's marketing and fundraising efforts.

In addition to her work in theatre, Julia served on the board of Boston's Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and coordinated the launch of 20UNDER40.

"My time at Adams State taught me that you get out of life what you put into it. If you bring passion and dedication, ASU Theatre will equip you with knowledge, experience, mentorship, a network of life-long friends and colleagues…and perhaps most importantly, the inner strength to find and create your own path of opportunities."
