Workshops and Sessions:

Throughout the academic year, we strive to offer a variety of professional development workshops on topics of interest to faculty. We also endeavor for inclusiveness and programming that is relevant to both faculty and staff. Look for sessions on teaching and learning, grading procedures, classroom management, campus health and safety, retention and promotion, among others. The committee both develops programming and supports professional development sessions designed by offices across campus.

Mid-year Retreat:

Since 2014 Title V funding has allowed us to hold mid-year overnight retreats in Taos, New Mexico. Past retreats, Recharge & Reflect (2014), Campus Culture on the Move! (2015), and Paws-itive Pathways: Using our Strengths to Create Personal and Institutional Change (2016) are open to faculty and staff and allow for cross-campus collaboration and communication. Stay tuned for more details!

New Faculty Orientation:

Adams State is committed to a smooth and welcoming transition for all our new faculty. The FDC strives to meet the following goals with New Faculty Orientation (NFO): 1) new faculty will feel welcome, 2) new faculty will make important connections with campus and the community, 3) new faculty will feel ready for Day One of class, and 4) NFO will help provide a foundation and framework for learning about Adams State.
