The Adams State University Music Department presents an Opera Workshop in Concert at 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 15, in Leon Memorial Hall.

Directed by Dr. Shellie Beeman, Adams State assistant professor of music, with assistance by JC Maheu, the evening will include dramatic and comic scenes from the Sound of Music, The Magic Flute, The Mikado, Hansel and Gretel, The Marriage of Figaro, and Elixir of Love.

Beeman said: "I am extremely grateful to have worked with this very talented group of young singers. They have worked very hard to get to this particular performance. The time and energy expended has been unending for each one, but they have had so much fun, learned a lot, and come so far. I know it will be an enjoyable evening for all who attend."

Voice studio students performing include Sklyer Choice, Josh Cody, Sydney Palmer, Devann Burt, Lais Harmsen, Alex Vance, Christian Jaquez, JC Maheu, Nic Hannan, Sarah Knight, Greg Bison, Sharell Martin, Brittany Holcomb, and Leeanne Roath

David Webb assisted with lights and sound and Becky Hand will accompany the performers.
