ASC hosts Volunteer Fair and ASC Cares Day

Student volunteers clean out flower beds during the 2008 ASC Cares Day.

Adams State College is preparing for the Seventh Annual Volunteer Fair and the Ninth Annual ASC Cares Day.

The Volunteer Fair and Club FoodFest is from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Japanese-American Memorial Garden, located just west of the ES Building. Non-profits from throughout the San Luis Valley are invited onto campus to represent their agency and recruit for volunteers. Student clubs will be fundraising by selling food items and there will be musical entertainment.

ASC Cares Day Fall Plunge Event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to sign up in advance to work that day on small projects that serve area nonprofit agencies. Projects for this year's event are currently being sought. Past projects have included assistance with landscaping, inventory, mailings, event set-up, art projects, youth programs, and more.

For further information on either of these events, to reserve a table at the Volunteer Fair or to propose a project for ASC Cares Day, please contact the Office of United Campus Ministry at 719-587-7516 or visit the website
