ASC hosts Annual ASC Cares Events
Adams State College is preparing for the Eighth Annual ASC Cares Volunteer Fair and the Tenth Annual ASC Cares Day Community Plunge.
The Volunteer Fair is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29 at the Japanese-American Memorial Garden, located just west of the ES Building. San Luis Valley non-profits are invited onto campus to represent their agency and recruit for volunteers. Student clubs will be fundraising by selling food items and there will be musical entertainment.
The ASC Cares Day Community Plunge event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 2. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to sign up in advance to work that day on small projects that serve area nonprofit agencies. Project proposals for this year's event are currently being received. Past projects have included assistance with landscaping, inventory, mailings, event set-up, art projects, youth programs, and more.
The following campus and community organizations have cosponsored ASC Cares events, Student Life and Recreation, Grizzly Activities Board, Associated Students and Faculty, Housing and Residence Life, Student Support Services; and Mi Animo Prevention, the Diocese of Pueblo and United Campus Ministry.
