Access to positive mental health presentation is September 12
The Adams State Autumn@Adams committee and San Luis Valley Mental Health Center extends an invitation to discuss access to mental and behavioral health services with Kristina Daniel, chief operating office of the San Luis Valley Mental Health Center.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in Adams State McDaniel Hall room 101. The discussion is free and open to the public. Free refreshments will be served.
This is an opportunity to learn what services are available locally as well as learn how to engage yourself or someone you care about in getting services. The discussion will include how overall health and wellness includes mental and behavioral wellness, where to go for assistance, and how healthcare reform should positively impact access to these important services.
McDaniel Hall is located on First Street, on the north side of campus near the stoplight. Parking is located east of McDaniel Hall. Adams State parking lots do not require permits after 5 p.m.
Autumn@Adams Week is September 9 through September 14. Events compliment the 2013 theme, Health, Fitness, and Beyond/Salud, Buena Forma Física y Más, including promoting positive mental health; exploring meditation and inner peace; stronger leadership through physical health; and a comprehensive look at future wellness.
