Adelante dishes out their salsa, which took second place in the salsa category at the 2013 Autumn@Adams Cook-Off; they also received best table décor.

Sensational cooks and chile lovers, plan to attend the ever-popular Adams State University Autumn@Adams Cook-Off starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, on the North Campus Green. Enter your special recipe for red or green chile or salsa for $10 and receive up to $150 for first place.

Tickets to sample the chile and salsa cost $3 and include the right to vote for your favorite dish. This year includes a jalapeno eating contest for adults and a piñata busting for children. Adams State clubs and organizations will be selling baked goods, drinks, and other special treats.

Voting stops at 1 p.m. and the event will close at 2 p.m. after announcing all award recipients.

Autumn@Adams Week is September 8 through September 13. Events compliment the 2014 theme, Great Expression/Gran Expresión, including dance, poetry, music, visual art creative processes; a Last Lecture by President David Svaldi; a 5K Color Run; the second annual HPPE Open House; and a presentation on the language of the SLV.
