Adams State is on Facebook

As part of a recruiting effort, Adams State College recently created a presence on Facebook, a social networking website.

According to Eric Carpio, director of admissions, his office has been aware that prospective students use social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace to learn about campus, ask questions of current students and staff, and possibly meet future classmates. "Some of our recent students have even used online communities to meet their roommates before arriving on campus in the fall. By creating an official Facebook presence, we are able to create yet another forum for future students to stay up-to-date with important information and connect with Adams State students, staff, and alumni."

The Adams State Alumni Relations Office also has a new site on Facebook.

Director of Communications Mark Schoenecker said it is another way for Adams State to attract the attention of prospective students. "It will be a viable way for Adams State to communicate and recruit new students and to stay connected with current students."
