The ASC Creative Writing Program provides opportunity for $1000 scholarship


The Adams State College Creative Writing Program is holding a regional creative writing scholarship contest for students entering Adams State in for the fall 2008 semester. Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded.

Applicants must submit five poems or one short story. The paper must include the title(s), and be typed, double spaced. A cover sheet that includes name, address, phone number, e-mail, and school, needs to accompany the paper. Names must not be on the manuscript. Entries must be submitted by Feb. 15.

Entries will be judged by Dr. Carol Guerrero-Murphy, chair of the English Theater Communications and Language Department, and Abeyta.

A reading and celebration will be held on the Adams State campus at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Mar. 7, in the Luther Bean Museum. Finalists will be invited to present their work at this celebration.
